POSITION PURPOSE

This is a safety sensitive position. Helps identify and correct equipment problems. Is responsible for carrying out maintenance and continuous improvement duties on production equipment in great depth and complexity. This role is responsible for ensuring that maximum production OEE is realized on the shift and directing problem solving on the floor quickly. This individual will require the leadership skills necessary to direct the activities of operators, Mit's and maintenance technicians. The position further involves technical training and assessments on production equipment, and technical knowledge of the relationships between equipment, raw materials, and critical process control points to troubleshoot any type of equipment issue.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Reports to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager and has frequent and regular contact with all associates throughout the facility.

  1. Supports the manufacturing teams in an effort to meet production goals. Provide all plant areas with technical expertise and analytical skills to facilitate problem solving and root cause analysis.
  2. Provides a leadership role in Continuous Improvement projects and in resolving Corrective and Preventative Actions.
  3. Assists in the review and approval of contractor plans, work breakdown and detailed scope descriptions, detailed schedules and staffing requirements.
  4. Seeks new and innovative ways to streamline the manufacturing plant, and to implement and track improvements. Recommend / specify equipment, materials or processes.
  5. Works on trials and special projects, including capital projects as requested.
  6. Assists and trains other maintenance and/or other technical level employees to maintain and operate equipment efficiently and in a safe manner.
  7. Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theories and principles.
  8. Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with Company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
  9. Advises operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely.
  1. Assists Maintenance Technicians on machine breakdowns and preventative maintenance as necessary.
  2. Attend morning walk around meetings and provide information on the previous shift maintenance issues.
  1. Assist with developing and improving P. procedures on production equipment to reduce unscheduled part failures.
  2. Be prepared to undertake additional training as the company may deem necessary.
  1. Works with the Maintenance Coordinator on PM and Project scheduling.
  2. An active member of the Safety Champions.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* 2 Year related technical degree preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

* Safety (Guarding , Interlocks and ARC Flash)

* Knowledge of OSHA requirements

* Troubleshooting and use of Root Cause Analysis

* Electrical power

* Pneumatics

* PLC Login for troubleshooting

* Accepted Industry Standard Methods for Repair, Rebuild and Installation of machinery

* Preventative Maintenance

* Read/Understand Drawings and Manuals

* U.S. and Metric units of measure including calculating equivalents.

* Use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* 10 years maintenance experience

* High speed automation and packaging equipment

* Able to utilize PLC login to troubleshoot equipment issues

* Ability to perform machine troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, installation and PM's

* Can perform/assist with changeovers on all converting assets.

* Electrical experience troubleshooting and repairing control panels
