The Managing Director, Marketing and Communications is a key member of the Development Office management team who brings vision, leadership skills and extensive experience to the role. The Managing Director leads digital and print communications for the department and works closely with colleagues across the hospital and the system to plan and implement all marketing related initiatives across communication channels to increase philanthropic revenue, promote events, improve brand awareness, cultivate and steward donors and create prospect lead generation.
Reporting to a Senior Managing Director, the Managing Director is the primary liaison to and maintains close, cooperative working relationships with other key units of Mass General and Mass General Brigham and is empowered to represent Development at the hospital and across the system, within the context of their functional responsibilities.

The Integrated Marketing and Communications program includes 21 professionals charged with the overall strategy for and management of the Development Office's comprehensive marketing and communications program, comprising both digital and print communications. The team includes writers and editors of both print and digital communications, digital marketers, graphic and web designers, and more.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a bachelor's degree and 10+ years of progressive experience in development marketing and communications, preferably at an academic medical center and/or hospital, and 5+ years of management experience.
In addition, the successful candidate will bring a track record of creating and implementing sophisticated marketing and communications strategies and the following skills, abilities and competencies:
