JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Direct and manage contracts which support the ESH organization, including hazardous waste management and disposal, environmental assessments, permitting, and emergency response activities.
* Ensure compliance to US EPA TSCA 5(e) regulations for the commercialization of new chemicals.
* Manage safety testing of new chemicals through international regulatory processes.
* Manage site"s safety committee and its safety-related approvals, investigations, and initiatives.
* Promote ESH culture by driving various ESH performance improvement initiatives and employee engagement activities.
* Build effective relationships and trust with key stakeholders and business partners to drive program enhancements and support the development and reporting of metrics and performance data.
* Manage the site"s ESH management system elements and support development and reporting of metrics and performance data.
* Assure compliance with applicable ESH regulatory, corporate, and customer requirements.
* Coordinate implementation of MFC and Corporate ESH assessment and recordkeeping programs.
* Support emergency and response operations through assistance and oversight to staff during response activities, driving post-incident investigation and corrective action activities, and as a member of the Emergency Operations Command team.
* Support management of the ESH organization"s expense and capital budgets.
* Coordinate with other MFC locations and represent the facility in working groups or new initiatives.
* Work independently and as part of a functional team to resolve issues.
* Support review of existing process and facilities to identify EHS issues.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelors Degree, or similar related discipline with 8-10 years of experience OR
* Master's Degree with 6-8 years of experience
* Experience reporting to and interfacing with Massachusetts and Federal environmental and safety regulatory agencies.
* Previously demonstrated leadership experience of a small group or team.
* Previous experience planning and allocating tasks and workload across a team.
* Ability to make difficult decisions, solve complex issues and influence ESH cultural improvement.
* Ability to respond to internal and external issues to maintain regulatory compliance and enhance the employee experience.
* Experience in change management and planning activities as they relate to ESH integration and considerations.
* Application of continuous improvement tools and techniques knowledge including thorough root cause analysis and mistake-proofing processes.
