JOB MISSION:

We are actively seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead our Site Reliability Engineers within our eCommerce platform. The Site Reliability engineers support and monitor production for our eCommerce platform and are responsible for development enablement within our Agile Release Train. You will be working with the latest technologies, tools and frameworks, as well as working togetherwith the rest of the team to push New Balance as an innovator for years to come.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead a team of 7-10 Site Reliability Engineers including internal, contract, and agency developers located domestically and internationally

  • Manage a team of SREs responsible for 24/7 service support, including Incident ticket management

  • Balance the risk of unavailability with the goals of rapid innovation and efficient service operations

  • Manage Platform engineering, Production monitoring, and Capabilities to support DORA metrics

  • Utilizing Error Budgets to provide objective metrics that determine allowable service reliability that align to SLAs/SLOs

  • Scale support and development processes via architecture and automation solutions.

  • Directing, developing, and managing staff to maximize their individual contribution and function effectively as a team

  • Coordinate with the Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Businesses Stakeholders during product setup, on-boarding, and planning activities

  • Ensure code quality and standards using tools and review processes

  • Manage DevOps and Release Management across the Agile Release Train

  • Collaborate with other development managers on our CI/CD capabilities to allow for on-demand releases with confidence and quality

  • Work closely with other Engineering and Quality Assurance leaders to define and implement the Technology roadmap and vision

  • Implement standards and expectations for tools, reporting and metrics

  • Manage relationships with required vendors

  • Establish goals for DevOps/Dev Enablement/Site Reliability

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience and 4+ years of people management experience, mentoring and growing developers/engineers

  • Significant experience with Agile development practices

  • Deep understanding of Commerce Cloud and eCommerce architecture

  • Deep understanding of e-commerce flows, the topology, and e-commerce ecosystems

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical team membersand Stakeholders

  • Must be comfortable leading and evaluating team and individual effectiveness without having direct authority to assign to team's work

  • An ability to quickly identify and drive to the optimal solution when presented with a series of constraints

  • Strong capability in development product management - estimation, resource/budgetplanning, and development methodologies (Kanban, Scrum, Agile/Jira)

  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (Git strategies, automatedtesting)

  • Experience working with and maintaining CI/CD tools such as Jenkins for build andrelease management

  • Enable policies and procedures to ensure high-quality and maintainable code isproduced

  • Possess strong problem-solving and decision-making skills while maintaining goodjudgment

Flexible Work Schedule
