Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Standing a fixed post during normal business hours or serving as a roving patrol.
  • Checking badges of incoming employees and contractors.
  • Issuing badges to visitors who have been vetted through Visitor Control;
  • Ensuring that Lab and personal property is signed in and out of the facility as required
  • Monitoring and responding to alarms and dispatching appropriate personnel as required
  • Monitoring CCTV systems
  • Monitoring of Facilities and Safety systems.
  • Escorting visitors and contractors as required
  • Operation of baggage screening equipment, walk through metal detector, handheld metal detector various other duties associated with the screening of visitors and record keeping.
  • After-hours patrol of Draper facilities to include walking designated tours of Draper property and other locations inside and outside of Cambridge.
  • Identifying and reporting any security, facilities and/or safety related issues such as leaks, smoke, fire, abnormal temperature conditions, suspicious individuals or activity, etc.
  • Other security related duties may be made required
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Associates degree or specialized classes or training in Law Enforcement or Security preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • 1-3 years previous Security, military or Law Enforcement required.
  • Experience in the use of baggage xray, walk through and handheld metal detectors preferred
  • Experience using a PC necessary and knowledge of DSX Access Control Software is a plus.
  • Ability to interact with people in a professional manner and ability to communicate effectively is a must.
  • First Responder, CPR, AED certification desired.
  • Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance is required.

3 PM to 11 PM shift. Days off are TBD.

Security Requirement:

  • Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
