Your role at Baxter:

The incumbent is responsible for designing, developing, implementing projects and technologies as part of the Automation Roadmap and Digital Transformation Initiatives in North Cove. In addition to providing technical support and service to these areas, the incumbent may also perform the following functions: supervising, requisitioning, defining, initiating, specifying, documenting, and training along with own the proposal, analysis, design, and development activities for moderate-size project and support team(s). Be accountable for one or more business systems, technologies and/or vendors.

Baxter North Cove is on a mission to modernize our manufacturing processes through the implementation of sophisticated automation and Industry 4.0 tools and projects to optimize the plant and our operations. These tools are designed to improve our productivity goals and enable manufacturing sites to be more thoughtful and leaner. A successful candidate will exhibit a passion for new technologies and data, possess exceptional critical thinking and communication skills, and have a quest for continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing:

  • Act independently with minimal direction to conduct approved projects part of the Digital Transformation Initiatives. Encouraged to make suggestions on improvements based on technical knowledge.

  • Able to prepare all the documentation needed for the CER submission (FEL, project charter, RACI matrix, PDRI, project presentation).

  • Able to contribute to cost estimating of major capital budget items and the spending of approved project funds along with the spending phasing during the project.

  • Able to plan activities and tasks as a part of the project management using dedicated management tools like MS Project, Project Libre or Excel.

  • Investigate and analyze customer service problems and design improvement suggestions. Recommend design improvements.

  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.

  • Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

  • Participate in all phases of systems development lifecycle (SDLC) including but not limited to project proposals, defining requirements, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation with minimal guidance on analysis, system integration and coding.

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of digital transformation initiatives to enhance organizational systems and processes.

  • Act as an authority in system architecture, advising on standard methodologies and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.

  • Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with digital transformation projects, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in the technical application architecture and system integration tasks. Participate in design reviews, lessons learned and pre/post installation reviews.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree, in Computer Science or Engineering

  • 5 or more years' experience in a similar role developing and/or supporting applications to solve business problems.

  • Experience in a regulated industry is a plus.

  • Must have initial training in concepts of "Six Sigma" quality techniques.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle competing priorities reliably. PMP Certification Preferred.

  • Demonstrate proven expertise in working with business vendors to resolve day-to-day problems or make process changes.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 - $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
