ABOUT THE CENTER FOR EFFECTIVE THERAPY:
The Center for Effective Therapy (CET) is the state-of-the art outpatient center at the Baker Center. Serving children ages 2-22 and their families, CET provides the highest-quality evidence-based care designed to treat a wide range of behavioral and emotional concerns. These behavioral and emotional concerns include but are not limited to problems with anxiety, depression, behavior challenges, and traumatic stress disorders. At CET, we treat a multicultural population of clients including individuals from low income, racial, and ethnic minority backgrounds, members of the LGBTQ+ population, and children presenting with gender diversity. With locations in Boston and Waltham, we connect with our local community and build relationships to help break down the stigma around behavioral health care and show that we are partners dedicated to promoting inclusivity as well as health and emotional well-being for all. To do so, we provide treatments that have been proven to work, and we do so in a tailored way, making sure that we can customize treatments to the unique, specific needs of every child and caregiver.
 
Neuropsychologist/Testing Psychologist
 
Summary:
To help us achieve this mission, CET is seeking a passionate Neuropsychologist/Testing Psychologist to join its growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to help launch and develop a new Neuropsychology Testing Center within Baker Center's outpatient services. The Neuropsychologist/Testing Psychologist will work with the support of the Senior Director of Outpatient Clinical Services, the Director of Clinical Operations, and other key staff to grow a new testing service to help meet the great need for psychological testing in the Boston area. This includes developing testing batteries, conducting evaluations and writing comprehensive reports, creating a billing structure, and engaging in marketing and outreach efforts. While this role will begin as a primary testing position, opportunities to grow the program including hiring neuropsychologists, psychometricians, and adding a testing rotation to the Baker Center's competitive and coveted psychology and social work training programs will become available with demonstrated success in this role.

To support these goals, we provide ample training, supervision, and education to all members of our team and foster a community committed to learning, professional development, and continuous growth. We provide free, in-house training opportunities as well as free monthly continuing education seminars. Opportunities to join the clinical faculty at CET as part of BCCF's APA-accredited outpatient training clinic, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, are available as Neuropsychologists demonstrate expertise in their respective role. Qualifying individuals are eligible for a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School and the academic rank for this appointment is expected to be at the Instructor level. Regular teaching would be expected with this academic appointment.
 
Essential Duties:
  • Reporting to the Senior Director of Outpatient Clinical Services, the Neuropsychologist/ Testing Psychologist will provide high quality psychological testing to a culturally diverse population of children and young adults ages 2-22.
  • Working in collaboration with a highly trained team of evidence-based practice clinicians, our mission is to increase access to highly needed high-quality testing for children and families in the greater Boston area.

Testing Responsibilities:
  • Provides high quality, high fidelity cognitive, educational, developmental, psychological and neuropsychological evaluation and testing services to children ages 2-22 presenting with a range of child challenges including ADHD, disruptive behaviors, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, trauma, anxiety and mood disorders, medical and neurological conditions, and other challenges.
  • Conducts 10 comprehensive assessments per month, with bonus opportunities for completing additional evaluations.
  • Provides assessment, diagnosis, and empirically supported treatment planning to patients at CET.
  • Experience conducting early childhood, cognitive, educational, developmental, and neuropsychological testing. Familiarity and certification in the ADOS-2 is preferred.
  • Clearly and empathically communicates assessment findings to family members, patients, and referral sources.
  • Coordinates evidence-based treatment recommendations to patients in collaboration with clinical team and external collaterals.
  • Completes all reports and clinical documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with American Psychological Association professional standards and in compliance with current policies.
  • Attends required meetings and adheres to department policies and procedures.
  • Provides crisis evaluation and safety planning as needed.
  • Provides consultation services as needed.
  • Provides training and/or education about cognitive, educational, developmental, psychological and neuropsychological evaluation to parents, other laypersons, providers, policymakers or others as assigned or needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
  • Licensed Psychologist and Health Service Provider in Massachusetts in good standing or eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts.
  • 3-5 years of experience conducting neuropsychological/neurodevelopmental assessments.
  • Commitment to cultural responsiveness, humility, incorporation of a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) lens into all aspects of clinical work.
  • Graduate of APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology.
  • Completion of APA-accredited internship.
  • Computer proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, and experience working with electronic medical/health records (EMR/EHR).
  • Commitment to cultural humility, diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Commitment to working in an integrity driven environment.
Preferred:
  • Board certification in neuropsychology; board certification eligible applicants also encouraged to apply.
  • Experience or familiarity with evidence-based practices, (e.g., CBT, MATCH, TF-CBT, PCIT, ERP and SPACE Treatment) are especially beneficial.
  • Interest in developing and growing new programs and service lines is important to the position.
  • Specialized doctoral, internship, and postdoctoral training in neuropsychology.
