JOB MISSION:

The Senior Network Engineer will work as part of Global Network Services team to design and implement network infrastructure across a large diverse corporate environment. This position requires up to 20% travel in North America, mostly in the New England region.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABLITIES:

  • Design, deploy network solutions across New Balance's enterprise network with a strong focus on firewalls (NGFW), overall network security, and network route/switch configurations.
  • Provide excellent client service while evaluating enhancements to the global networks by making use of technical knowledge, experience, and an in-depth understanding of switching, routing, and data flows.
  • Conduct related technical analysis & planning for deployment of evolving technology solutions, leveraging architecture standards and design guides. Contribute to the development of such standards.
  • Interface with various stakeholders regarding projects and requirements for new tech & services.
  • Prepare technical solution designs and proposals, applying existing standards to meet business requirements.
  • Produce simple & concise documentation around project budgets, Implementation Plans, technical drawings, project management artifacts, and operational handoffs as necessary.
  • Manage own small and medium projects, ensuring an effective amount of organization, communication with stakeholders, and delivery.
  • Guide junior engineers and vendors through configuration and implementation activities.
  • Serve as Tier 3 Support for network operations in corporate, retail, cloud and data center network environments. Support typically involves advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and integration activities upon escalation.
  • Resolve issues by taking the appropriate corrective action or following the appropriate escalation procedures.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • 7+ years of related experience at multi-site medium and/or large enterprises; preferably with multinational enterprises.
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Experience with designing, building, and monitoring LAN, MAN, WAN, internet, VPN, WiFi, data center network environments.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Strong understanding of data center network provisioning.
  • Understanding and use of network management tools, experience deploying and managing firewalls/routers.
  • Experience with deploying and managing multisite VPN solutions.
  • Significant experience with Aruba Wireless Environment, Palo Alto Firewall, F5 Load Balancer, Cisco routing and switching, Microsoft Team and TCP/IP.
  • Demonstrable ability to break down and analyze network communications at the packet level.
  • Experience with deploying and managing load balancers and remote access VPNs, Next Gen Firewalls.
  • Experience with Implementing Quality of Service in a Voice/Video integrated Network Environment.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, and change management processes.
  • Hands on experience with multiple platforms in a corporate environment including Windows, Linux, OSX, Cisco, and other platforms.
  • Experience working on global network design ranging from Retail to Enterprise environments.
  • Preferred (not required) experience with manufacturing and warehouse businesses.
  • Self-starter with high energy to meet the needs of a demanding business and IT environment.
  • Willingness and availability to work flexible schedules as needed (.e.g., for implementations or incident escalations), be available 24x7 for escalations, and potentially work in an on-call rotation that includes weekends. Ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse work force across the organization.

Flexible Work Schedule
