We are seeking a dynamic, professional, and engaging individual to join our Advancement team for the spring semester 2024. This opportunity allows experience in both a community college setting as well as fundraising office for a 501(c)(3) foundation.
The Intern will be an active member of the team and will work closely with all members of the advancement office and have direct donor contact. The intern will assist with various projects that are intended to provide them with operational experience as well as an overview in various areas within advancement.

  • Learn and Support advancement functions by providing excellent engagement to donors through cultivation, gift tracking, and giving behavior analysis.
  • Update donor records in the Raiser’s Edge database (training will be provided), includes address and contact information, tracking emails and other engagement, and adding job information.
  • Prepare donor giving reports.
  • Research donors for updates and information about other philanthropic efforts.
  • Schedule interviews with students to capture their stories for use in appeals.
  • Organize advancement records, scan them for uploading into the database, and file paper records.
  • Proofread appeals and scholarship agreements. Update scholarship agreements when required.
  • Prepare mailings and coordinate work study students in completing mail campaigns.
  • Actively participates in Advancement department team meetings.
  • Attend College-wide meetings.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Organizational Leadership, Business Management or Psychology, Senior/Graduate preferred.
  • Strong service orientation.
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and sense of accountability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite – specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Good communication (verbal, written, and listening).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and have strong rapport with the leaders and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong time management and organization skills.
