Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Performs skilled laboratory work under close supervision of senior technical personnel (exempt and nonexempt). Under limited supervision, perform cleaning, maintenance, and/or calibration of laboratory and equipment requiring skilled knowledge. With adequate training and supervision, perform work of an essentially repetitive nature for production of deliverable hardware. Such work shall involve both moderately complex manual skills and highly refined manual "watchmaker" skills and the operation of moderately complex automated or semi-automated equipment. Experience with optical fiber handling, winding, routing and splicing is a plus, as is experience with optical fiber pigtailing to photonic devices and assembly of optical test platforms. With limited supervision, carefully documents their own work consistent with work unit policy in hand written form or using common computer-based software such as MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, etc. At the discretion of the supervisor, performs focused training to enable progression into higher skilled positions. Other temporary assignments at the discretion of the supervisor.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Either graduation from a two-year technical school or demonstration of applicable experience is required.
